Chelsea are apparently deemed favourites to pursue the services of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore. The Argentine has had his injury troubles over the past year, and this has hindered his chances of earning a regular run in the first-team.
The 27-year-old is no more than a fringe player under Unai Emery this season, and this has urged him to consider his future at Parc des Princes.
A report from The Star says the Blues have made initial contact with the player’s representatives over a winter switch to Stamford Bridge.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has had a close watch on Pastore since the midfielder’s time at Palermo, and he is now prepared to test Les Parisiens’ resolve as he bids to reinforce his squad in the New Year.
Pastore is not a new name to be linked with the West London giants with former boss Jose Mourinho (currently at Manchester United) having failed with an approach for the player in the 2014-15 season.
Chelsea will have to cough up a sum in excess of £35m if they are to do business with Paris Saint-Germain for the talented attacker.
