Spurs’ Danny Rose makes his way into Metro’s team of the week despite not being named in squad

In a weekly XI seemingly straight from the Garth Crooks hand book, the Metro dumbfounded readers by including Tottenham’s Danny Rose in their ‘Team of the Week‘ selection.

Those eagle-eyed enough to notice were quick to highlight that the England defender wasn’t actually included in the match day squad, on the count of the player suffering a hamstring injury.

Such trivialities didn’t seem to stop the news site coming up with this.

Before adding the following in the accompanying write-up….

Tottenham are back! Or so it seems after a convincing 4-0 win over Stoke.

Rose was one of the many Spurs stars to finally hit their straps after a steady start to the campaign, contributing at both ends of the pitch to ensure the north Londoners came away with all three points.

The article was hastily changed to instead include Rose’s replacement, Ben Davies, with an ever so slight change to the write-up.

Davies was one of the many Spurs stars to finally hit their straps after a steady start to the campaign, contributing at both ends of the pitch to ensure the north Londoners came away with all three points.

Yup, sorted.
