Whilst Villa’s new owner Dr Tony Xia may have been bold enough pre-match to predict his side would be battling among Europe’s biggest clubs within 5 years and be Champions League winners within 10, it didn’t stop Aston Villa fans from fearing the worst after a humiliating exit from the EFL Cup last night courtesy of a side two leagues their junior.
The Villains succumbed to a 3-1 defeat away to League Two side Luton Town, perhaps even more embarrassing than the scoreline however was this 66th-minute own-goal via Denmark international Jores Okore.
Truly painful stuff….
