FA interview Steve Bruce for the England job

What with Sam Allardyce seemingly the unexpected FA darling, it’s rather surprising that any other English manager would be in the frame for the England job given the former West Ham’s coverage of late.

With that in mind, step forward Steve Bruce who, according to several news sources, is the second gaffer to be interviewed for the position.

Having captained a Manchester United side to several Premier League trophies, Bruce has taken charge of numerous sides middling in between the Premier League and the Championship. Whilst the Corbridge born manager has achieved much success with limited resources throughout his career, Bruce can be considered somewhat of a long shot compared to Big Sam, largely to due to a perceived underwhelming response if he was to be confirmed as the man to lead the national side to World Cup 2018.

With two management candidates interviewed for the position, just USA’s Jurgen Klinsmann and Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe await their turn – the latter widely tipped to turn down the role having expressed his will to carry on his much lauded project with his club side.

So what do we think England fans? hardly an outstanding shortlist. Anyone your dying to see in the seat?
