Steven Penis? – Mark Lawrenson’s gaffe filled Saturday was one for the ages

Disappointed your club limped out of the FA Cup this weekend?

Put your own pain aside just for a second and spare a thought for BBC pundit, and gloomy old sausage, Mark Lawrenson who appeared on two separate television programmes in a day, making a fool of himself on each in two equally cringeworthy ways.

First up is the former Liverpool centre half making an appearance on a special FA Cup edition of ‘Pointless’.

Asked to name an obscure country starting with the letter A. Lawro’s fired back with….Alaska.

A poor showing indeed.

Later in the day came his appearance on more familiar waters, MOTD, were he somehow got tongue tied when referencing Everton’s injury list.

How Gabby Logan held it together we do not know.
