Alex Ferguson’s letter to Eric Cantona upon the Frenchman’s departure

       

Getting on the wrong side of Alex Ferguson is seemingly inevitable as a Man Utd player sooner or later, Keane, Beckham, Rooney even Rio Ferdinand have felt the tectonic plates of the multi Premier League winners disapproval on multiple occasions.

One man Ferguson has always seems particularly affectionate for however is a certain Frenchman bought from Leeds for a poultry £1.2m back in the 1992/93 season.

Eric Cantona inspired Manchester United to a Premier League trophy in his debut year, upon retiring from the game 5 years later, it’s seems his manager has never forgotten his talisman’s impact.

Here’s a letter penned to his favourite son (apart from his actual sons of course) as featured in his latest publication ‘Leading’
