Whilst he’s turning out for Welsh second-tier side Llanelli Town at the age of 40, former Swans cult hero Lee Trundle has become an internet sensation after footage emerged of a devastatingly brilliant penalty.

 

Lining up as part of Swansea all-star charity match, Trundle, who also turned out for Wrexham and Bristol City during his heyday, netted a double hat trick as his side proved 11-4 victors over a Briton Ferry Llansawel over-35s team – with the resulting gate receipts collected for local cancer suffer Carolyn Gammon.

Whilst the goal haul was impressive enough, it was Trundle’s superbly judged spot kick that grabbed much of the attention from social media throughout the evening.
