West Ham United Launch €10m bid for Toulouse Striker Martin Braithwaite

London-based club West Ham United have made it known that they are keen on bolstering their attacking ranks once the transfer window opens in January after launching a €10m bid for Tolouse’s promising young striker Martin Braithwaite.

The Danish centre-forward has served well as Les Pitchoun’s club captain this season, leading from the front with eight goals and three assists in 17 appearances overall.

At such a young age of 25, great things appear to be in the future for Braithwaite – something West Ham United are keen to capitalise on.

True enough, according to French sports weekly France Football, the Hammers are thought to have launched a €10m bid for the striker in an effort to bring the player to London.

Tolouse, for their part, are eager to keep their star man, with manager Pascal Dupraz unequivocally voicing where he stands on the issue, saying: “Martin Braithwaite will stay.”

Whether West Ham will be pushed back by the hands-off warning or come back to the table with a higher offer, however, remains to be seen.

Braithwaite started his professional footballing career in during the 2009-10 season with Danish giants Esbjerg. He notched a total 97 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals in 97 appearances before moving to Toulouse in the summer of 2013.

Braithwaite has a contract with Toulouse which is set to expire in 2019.
