There comes a certain point after you join an indoor soccer league when you realize your worn-out gym shoes just aren’t going to cut it. Just as having the right Indoor Soccer Shoes will give that extra step of pace on the pitch, getting a good pair of turf cleats can make all the difference with indoor soccer. Let’s look at the five best from two of the leading manufacturers out there, Nike and Adidas.

Nike MercurialX Victory VI CR7 IC

Nike MercurialX Victory VI CR7 IC

These indoor soccer shoes are meant to fit like a glove, featuring a tongue-less design with embossed horizontal ridges (raised along the sides for greater touch). It has sleek black and florescent green coloring on the synthetic upper, with a wraparound rubber sole for better grip and agility.
The high end of normal retail value for these shoes is $85, but these days you can usually find the Victory VI CR7 in stores and online for between $55 and $75.

Why we like it:
– Snug fit for enhanced touch
– The rubber sole curls up around all sides of the shoe, allowing for better turning
– Durable outer and inner material

What we don’t like about it:
– Tends to run on small side
– Can be too narrow for some people, especially through the heel

Is it a good value for the money?
With recent price drops from the original $85-plus cost, the Nike MercurialX Victory VI CR7 for indoor competition absolutely is. That does come with the caveat that this is a rather narrow, form-fitting shoe. Those with wider feet may not be able to get comfortable in these. Most everyone else will get a lot of value out of these starting after a couple hours of breaking them in.

Nike MercurialX Finale IC

Nike MercurialX Finale IC

Compared to the Victory VI CR7, this is a more traditional indoor shoe made with flexible synthetic material. That material is also perforated along the sides to cool wearers’ feet while playing. The rubber sole grips well but also has enough bounce to assist in acceleration.
The MercurialX Finale IC is out of stock through Nike and several major retailers, but can be found online for anywhere between $55 and $95.

Why we like it:
– Comfortable, predictable fit
– Breathable upper prevents too much sweating
– Lightweight design

What we don’t like about it:
– Can get beat up rather quickly

Is it a good value for the money?
The original Finale IC is hard to find now that Nike has the Finale II in wide circulation (more on that in a bit). Because of that, these can run a bit pricey and can even be difficult to find in common sizes. But this is an ultra-comfortable and popular indoor soccer shoe. It’s a steal if it can be found online for $70 or less—some wearers have noted it’s not particularly durable, though, and so shelling out more may not be prudent.

Nike MercurialX Finale II IC

The successor to the previous indoor shoes we just examined, Nike’s Finale II has updated the design while still prioritizing a light, breathable design. The synthetic-and-mesh upper assists greatly with ventilation and the neoprene lining around the ankle provides a nice, snug fit.
The MercurialX Finale II has come down from its original $100 price point and is now generally sold for between $60 and $80.

Why we like it:
– Runs a bit on the large side, so good for folks with wider feet
– Very breathable, lightweight design
– Good cushion for an overall comfortable feel

What we don’t like about it:
– Can be loose-fitting for those with narrow feet
– Raised ankle collar can irritate if not snug enough

Is it a good value for the money?
For an average of $5 more than the Victory VI CR7, the Finale II IC can be worth it for those who prioritize comfort over performance. These shoes work well on a variety of playing surfaces and, as mentioned above, are great for those with wide feet. If those are important factors for someone, then the Finale II is a good value for them.

Adidas Performance Mundial Goal

This is THE classic among indoor competition shoes. The Mundial is Adidas’ flagship for both indoor soccer and cleats, with the timeless look of black leather and signature three white stripes. The Mundial Goal features a high back for good heel-to-ankle support and a flexible exterior on top of the toes for better control.
That pedigree comes with a bit of a price, as the Mundial Goal is widely sold for between $75 and $95 at major retailers.

Why we like it:
– Classic, cool design
– Extremely comfortable kangaroo leather upper and synthetic lining
– Good ankle support

What we don’t like about it:
– Expensive
– A bit on the narrow side
– Flatter sole can be tough on some people’s arches

Is it a good value for the money?
The Adidas Mundial is a quality shoe, hence why it’s stuck around by one name or another for so long. But, simply in terms of indoor soccer performance, these aren’t the best value compared to other models on this list. There are more specialized designs for less money—but the classic look, feel, and versatility of the Mundial Goal will still appeal to those who don’t mind the extra cost.

Adidas Performance Ace 16.2 CT

Adidas Performance Ace 16.2 CT

A synthetic cousin to the Mundial, Adidas’ Performance Ace 16.2 CT for indoor combines a lot of great elements for a very well-rounded shoe. Trademarks of the Adidas house style (like the raised back and predictable fitting) are combined with extra ventilation up front, flexible synthetic-and-textile material for extra control, and a rounded rubber sole. This is, in many ways, the total package.
The Ace 16.2 CT indoor soccer shoe can usually be found for between $65 and $95.

Why we like it:
– Exceptional grip from the rubber sole
– Form-fitting synthetic build
– Easy to break in and comfortable
– Lightweight
– Good ankle support

What we don’t like about it:
– Tends to run on small side
– Flatter sole can be tough on some people’s arches

Is it a good value for the money?
This shoe marries comfort and performance magically and is well worth the price point. Flexible and comfortable, lightweight and supportive, the Performance Ace 16.2 CT is the best shoe on this list and an exceptional value if it can be found below $85.
