Steve Finnan, a true veteran of the English football scene, he’s only one of two players to have scored in each of the five highest divisions of English football. His five-year career with Liverpool was certainly a successful one, and he was a very consistent performer over the years. He was a part of the Liverpool team that brought home the Champions League and the FA Cup in the space of two years, as well as breaking their highest points total in the Premier League (82 points) at the end of the 2005-06 season. Even though he was loved by the Anfield faithful, competition arrived in the form of Alvaro Arbeloa, who eventually ousted him from the starting lineup during the 2007-08 season.

What’s Steven Finnan up to now
Steve Finnan disappeared for a number of years to work in property development after retiring from the game, to the point that Liverpool couldn’t even locate him for the 10-year anniversary of their 2005 Champions League victory. After a series of investigations and the twitter hashtag #FindSteveFinnan got trending, they were able to contact him but unfortunately it was too late to bring him to the event.
High point: Becoming the first-choice right-back early in his Liverpool career.
Low point: An injury-plagued season with Espanyol between his time at Liverpool and Portsmouth.
