Rummenigge not impressed by Lewandowski’s criticisms

Bayern Munich’s Rummenigge Slams Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski has been heavily criticised by the Bayern Munich CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, after he took issue with the club’s transfer policy.

Over the summer, Bayern Munich signed Niklas Sule from Hoffenheim, Kingsley Coman from Juventus on a permanent deal, and Corentin Tolisso from Lyon, as well as acquiring James Rodriguez on loan from Real Madrid. Clearly Bayern Munich isn’t concerned about a home field advantage, and is instead signing players from all over who have shown promise and delivered on the field.

Lewandowski Told Der Spiegel that the Bavarians Should Compete

Lewandowski told Der Spiegel that he wished the Bavarians would compete for the best of who was to be had in the transfer market: Paris Saint-Germain signed Neymar for £198 million, along with Kylian Mbappe, and Barcelona paid £97 million, plus add-ons, for Ousmane Dembele.

Lewandowski said that Bayern Munich would need to come up with something and get creative if they wanted to continue bring good players into the fold. He added that, if you wanted to compete in the top ranks, as Bayern certainly does, then top quality players were required.

Rummenigge Takes a Heavy Exception

Rummenigge, however, has taken huge exception to Lewandowski’s remarks, with the latter’s agent stating that the player was upset by the apparent lack of support he got while he was aiming for the golden boot over the last season, as punters who were honing in on the best bets NZ has to offer may well recall.

Rummenigge said that it would be a great pity if Lewandowski actually saw things that way, since loyalty was as important as it was to Bayern Munich, and also a significant aspect of play in the minds of the club’s fans.

Rummenigge Defends Bayern Munich’s Modus Operandi

Rummenigge stated that, for a while now, Bayern Munich had adopted a serious, and successful, modus operandi that had brought them huge success. He restated that he supported the chancellor’s decision to regulate and reduce fees, as well.

Rummenigge went on to say that Lewandowski was obviously irritated by the PSG transfers, and then Rummenigge said once more that he was disappointed in Lewandowski’s comments, adding that the player earned a lot of money with Bayern.

Rummenigge then went on to say that whoever criticises Bayern Munich, as a Football Club or as a team, would need to deal with him personally. He went on to say that Lewandowski had already been found to be making false claims over the last season, after the Freiburg match, where he asserted that he had not received the support he required.

Rummenigge warned that no player was as powerful as Lewandowski apparently thinks he is, and advised the player to relook at his contract. He signed with Bayern until the year 2021, and there was no exit clause.

He went on to say that the player was much influenced, and not necessarily for the good, by his agent, and that was obviously what had happened with these comments. The interview had been organised around Bayern, and his agent was doing him ill with this kind of guidance. The Football Club have since been urged to remove Lewandowski.
