Review
Having been foolishly let go by Nike prior to his worldwide dominance, Argentine miniature genius Lionel Messi has been the face of Adidas football and the Adidas Adizero F50 boot line. Now the Barca forward as unfurled his brand new weapons for the 2017/18 season. The Adidas 17.1 Nemeziz are among the most exciting releases we`ve seen from the German manufacturer in the past years.
The soccer cleats are the first boots with a low-cut laceless design. Adidas has also released 4 other versions of the boots, which include designs with laces. But the 17.1 are really pushing what we know about cleats in general, as they are made from tape. As you might expect, the features of the boots are all new and fans as excited as possible.
Upper
The upper looks very distinctive, with the tape and low-cut design, the boots are indeed made for the skilled player.
- Agylityknit 2.0
The newest Agilityknit technology is here and it is better than expected. The fit of the cleat is amazing and it is all due to the new technology which wraps the forefoot and the heel. To be fair, it has to be said that similar type of heel wrapping was used in other sports, but to see it at this level, in soccer is indeed groundbreaking. This type of upper will benefit agile players which like to keep the ball close. At moments, players will find the cleats to be closer to the barefoot experience than any other boots.
Sports taping is what inspired the tape design of the upper. The torison tape comes to produce one of the most interesting uppers from Adidas. But not only does the upper look good, it provides a very good, natural, fit. It can be said that the fit of the upper is similar to the Ace 17 series, but it certainly feels tighter, especially around the midfoot and the heel.
Comfort
The comfort of the shoe is also at the highest standard. The insole comes with a very soft synthetic material which will make the close fit a bit more comfortable. The removable insole comes with perforations in the essential areas of the forefoot and the heel, much as the Ace 17 series.
But the comfort of the shoes is also given by some not so visible technologies. One of them involves the placement of silicon spots on the inside of the shoes. This prevents internal slippage and adds to the overall comfort level.
Outsole
OutsoleThe outsole manages to reach the same standard as the upper. Adidas included two torsion bars in the midfoot area. This means the overall stifness of the outsole will be matched by proper flexibility, which will contour the bottom of your foot. The lightweight outsole is among the best we’ve seen from Adidas and it is only fair to pair it with a combination of studs.
The manufacturer used a combination of conical and blade studs. They play an essential role in the acceleration and deceleration of the players. Adidas` design finds the combination of stud designs into a single model which is bladed towards the inside of the boot and rounded towards the outside of the cleat. There are 7 studs in the forefoot and 4 studs in the heel area for proper weight distribution.
The Adidas 17.1 Nemeziz is part of a small revolution. It brings even more innovation to the modern uppers with its 360 Torshion Tape technology.
