Whilst their Premier League defence has wilted within the opening months of the season, Leicester City’s Champions League dream shows no sign of ending after they made the second phase at an absolute canter.
The Foxes claimed a hard fought 2-1 win over Club Brugge in front of the King Power faithful, a performance so surprisingly straightforward for the home side, they almost forgot about their oppositions attacking threat.
Shinji Okazaki, the man with the most frightening calfs in football, opened the scoring early on, finishing off a wonderfully judged Christian Fuchs cross .

The Belgian First Division A side did get themselves back into the match when Leicester’s momentum waive red, Joze Izquierdo adding a fine solo effort to put the pressure on the Midlanders.
Leicester however dug in deep to claim the Group G top spot, with the mini league’s second place to be fought out between Porto and FC Copenhagen in the final round of fixtures.

As undeniably brilliant their achievements in the competition have been, Ranieri and co will no doubt be relieved they can purely concentrate on the side’s worryingly poor league form for the next few months at least.
