Darren Bent v Wolves
Whilst he never effected much on the upper echelons of the Premier League table during his career, Darren Bent is still widely known by Sunderland and Villa fans as a top class goal scoring forward whenever given competent service.
Now running out for the Steve McClaren helmed Derby County, 32-year old Bent showed this weekend he’s still got plenty to offer in the goal-scoring stakes with an absolute beauty of a volley against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Here’s footage of the effort, note Will Hughes’ excellent high through ball as well as the apparent helplessness of opposition keeper keeper Andy Lonergan as the ball whizzes past.
