Cardiff vs Manchester United – Match Preview

The Premier League is undoubtedly home to some of the best managers in world football today, whether Jose Mourinho is still in that elite bracket is a point that can be argued long into the night.
However one cannot argue about the legendary status of theman that he will square off against this weekend.

That man is Neil Warnock and the 70 year old will be hoping he can mastermind another upset while in charge of Cardiff this Saturday, something that can also be said for their fans as they look to make good use of a matchbook bonus code when backing their beloved Bluebirds to win.

As of late Cardiff are doing an excellent job of making the pundits look silly this season, this is due to the fact that many of them had the South Wales outfit as clear favourites to be relegated from the Premier League at the end of the campaign.

Admittedly their season did take a while to get going, something that only reinforced the pundit’s claims. However, those very same experts have been made to eat their words as of late after a string of hard fought home wins.

Brighton, Wolves and Southampton have all fallen at the Cardiff Stadium in recent times and it could well be that is their home form that plays a massive part in their bid to not go back down to the EFL Championship at the first time of asking.

And it’s not just the players that will play a massive part in this either, the Cardiff fans will do so to. They have acted like a genuine 12th man lately and the cacophony of noise that they have made has given their heroes a huge boost.

They will be required to perform the same duties this weekend when Manchester United come to town. If they can make life uncomfortable for the Red Devils then it could be a very long ninety minutes that they are in for.

It seems to be a case of one step forward and two steps back for United this season, just when you think they are getting a head of steam in terms of momentum they then undo their hard work with a poor showing.

Take the week in which they made incredibly light work of Fulham at Old Trafford, here they turned in arguably their best league performance of the season as they strolled to a 4-1 win, only to then turn in an abject showing at Valencia in the Champions League.

This stop start campaign is doing Jose Mourinho no real favours as he looks to prove to the United hierarchy that he is still the right man to be in charge and although he is unlikely to be sacked before the end of the season you do wonder if he will be at the helm for the next.

A win in Cardiff would certainly make life a lot easier for Mourinho and although they have players that are more than capable of achieving that, you never really know if they are to turn up or not. Something that Neil Warnock and his men will be looking to take full advantage of.
