Breaking: Manchester United agree £75m fee for Premier League hitman

Manchester united’s unremarkable Summer transfer window is set to get a whole new lease of life as Everton hitman Romelu Lukaku is all but certain become a Red Devil.

The powerful Belgian striker has the been the subject of much transfer tattle over the past few months, nay seasons, with a return to Chelsea seemingly the most likely move for the player.

However various big UK based publications, such as the Guardian), believe the Old Trafford side are nailed-on to secure a giant £75m transfer.

Since United’s disappointing Premier League campaign to an end, Joe Mourinho has only managed to secure Benfica’s Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof for £31m. Rather unremarkable considering last seasons big-money captures of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.

Indeed the Frenchman is believed to be a big deciding factor in the former Chelsea player’s choice to choose the multi Champions League winners over the current EPL champions. The two have struck up quite the friendship of late, something clear that has been quite to see via the medium of social media.

The news will no doubt infuriate Antonio Conte who’s reportedly been desperate to offload Diego Costa before bringing in a replacement, only for the divisive Spain international to be relishing in staying put, much to the dismay of the Italian manager. It’s not yet known whether the revelations of their target potentially upping sticks for Manchester will force money man Abramovich into reaching into his deep pockets at the very last moment or miss out on the league’s most dangerous forward.

Still only 24-years of age, Lukaku netted 25 times and created 5 further goals during an impressive 16/17 league campaign for the Toffees. Numbers that have pretty much been steady since Jose Mourinho himself decided on letting the striker go out on loan to WBA in 2012 during the manager’s last spell with the Blues.
