Team News

Manchester United have a long injury list to grapple with ahead of their game against Spurs. While Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo, and club-record signing Paul Pogba are now injury-free, they are believed to be unfit to play come Saturday. Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera have picked up knocks during their game against Swansea during the midweek so their appearance in this game is also doubtful. Meanwhile, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick remain out with long-term injuries.

Tottenham won’t be able to count on their enigmatic striker Harry Kane, which will undoubtedly affect his side’s attacking options come Saturday. Spurs do have Fernando Llorente to call on as a solid goalscorer to lead the men up front. Meanwhile, pacey winger Erik Lamela and sturdy midfielder Victor Wanyama are also out with injuries.

Form
Manchester United
L-D-W-W-W (2nd in the Premier League table)

Manchester United come into this game fresh from their solid 2-0 win against fellow Premier League side Swansea during the League Cup fixture in midweek. However, they were humbled by minnows Huddersfield Town in their last league outing and questions will have to be asked of United’s squad. Perhaps manager Jose Mourinho will need to refocus his charges if they are to get any good result against an in-form Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur
W-W-W-W-D (3rd in the Premier League table)

Tottenham’s shock 3-2 loss against London rivals West Ham will definitely have an effect in the squad’s confidence coming into this game. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, however, will certainly highlight his side’s league form, as the away side are undefeated in their last five outings. Can they pull it off again this time round against a tenacious United team?

Match Prediction
This match certainly has the potential to be a thrilling encounter between two formidable top-six sides. Form will get thrown out the window as the whistle is blown. Expect fast-paced action, with the side having the most heart and desire coming out on top.
