Whilst even the most cynical of detractors would admit that the German playmaker possesses ungodly footballing powers, it can’t be denied that once Mesut Ozil’s shoulders began to hunch, he’s can largely become a liability to his teammates.

With that in mind, and following from a disappointing performance against Spurs this weekend, it perhaps not surprising that Ozil has been connected with a move away from the Emirates. This recent incident perhaps another reason why the tabloids have been heavy on Ozil related rumours.

Post the sides defeat to Spurs, the Mirror reported that the German thew the mother of all strops when asked to take part in a post-match drugs test. Taking exception to the fact that he’s repeatedly asked to do so, Ozil struck out at a nearby door, leaving his stud marks.

Having already played for one of Europe’s uber-clubs, the mighty Real Madrid, and with the club unlikely to ever sanction a sale to a Premier League rival, a surprise name has been linked with the World Cup winners signature.

With the player stalling on a proposed £280,000-a-week deal, Turkish publication Fotospor is reporting that the player’s agent has already met with representatives from Fenerbahce recently, with a £42m deal on the table.

Having come from Turkish descent, the deal may not be a ridiculous as at first glance. Added to that, the player has previously been vocal on his admiration for the Süper Lig.

“Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahçe fan,” he once said commented to Turkish source Sabah prior to his move to North London.

The transfer talk will not doubt make for nervy reading for the average Arsenal fan. Currently, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been heavily earmarked for a move lately. If any one of such names does decide to leave, an exit themed domino effect may ensue.
