Spurs v Manchester United preview

With Chelsea claiming the title after a tough win at the Hawthorns last night, you’d have been a brave punter to bet Tottenham’s title bid was anything but scuppered going into the Premier League’s final showdown. However, if Poch’s Spurs side have shown anything since his appointment, the Lilywhites will not give up their league title dreams for next year – (Scroll down for Tottenham v Manchester United live stream info)

At the very least their White hart Lane fixture against fallen giants Manchester United, a side that have mocked their ‘Tottenham-nous’ on previous occasions, represents a potential confidence boost of epic proportions – win that will no doubt stick a marker in their quest to be one of the league’s big boys for seasons to come. And Mourinho’s side are not expected to put up much of a fight.

The Red Devil’s confirmed their Europa League final spot courtesy of a bad tempered 2nd leg 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo last night, with the side just making their way through courtesy of a superior aggregate score-line. Having already hinted that Europe’s second premier competition is their preferred route to the Champions League, Spurs may find themselves up against a semi-motivated United side.

Added to that, Spurs will be saying a sad farewell to their famous ground with a new multi-million-pound venue currently in development. Further motivation for Tottenham to turnover Mourinho’s side convincingly ahead of there one-year Wembley excurson.

Talking on the big move, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke of his sides White Hart Lane exit: “If I feel there is something to take home to my house I will, but not my manager’s seat – if I do I will have a big problem with my wife!

“I hope Sunday will be the most special day in the last three seasons. It will be special for our fans, staff, players, people who love Tottenham.

“At the same time I am excited about the new stadium because the soul and the smell of White Hart Lane will keep there.

“When the new era and stadium arrive there will be different expectations but, most important, always in our memory will be White Hart Lane, the soul and the smell.”

Spurs have tasted victory only once in their previous 15 home Premier League games against Manchester United, that coming in last season’s 3-0 mauling of Louis Van Gaal’s team.
