Liverpool v Middlesbrough: Will The Reds self destruct at the worst time

Jurgen Klopp and his band of trophy hungry young players welcome Middlesbrough this weekend, both sides final games of the season and Liverpool final chance of a much lusted after Champions League place. (scroll down to find a Liverpool v Middlesbrough stream)

If the Merseysiders win the match, Arsenal late surge will be all for nothing as they will finish 5th. If Liverpool somehow to balls things up against an already relegated side, then the Londoners will have an almighty shot at nicking 4th position if they can beat Everton at home.

Coming off the back of a dazzling display against, an admittedly already on the beach, West Ham Ham side, the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana will be licking their lips over the prospect of facing a poor Boro side. Saying that the Teesdiers have at least got one thing right this season, a steady backline that gives very little away.

Knowing that Klopp’s side famously HATE playing teams that sit back, perhaps things won’t go entirely the way of Britains most successful European sides if their litany of attacking talent get frustrated. Perhaps the traveling supporters hopes of a decent result will be pinned on those keen on impressing in this Summers shop window.

TEAM NEWS

Roberto Firmino is unlikely to play a part in the encounter after confirmed muscle issues, meaning Daniel Sturridge is likely to start up front for potentially the last time as a Reds player. Middlesbrough, on the other hand, will be without Daniel Ayala, Gaston Ramirez and Victor Valdes because of injury.
