Arsenal v Leicester: Fuchs brings down Alexis Sanchez in bizarre throw-in incident

Austrian captain grows weary of Sanchez’ attempts to block long throw-win during Arsenal defeat last-night

Whilst the clubs Champions League hopes remain up in the air going into the business end of the season, Arsenal followed on from a superb FA Cup semi final victory at the weekend with a 1-0 win over Leicester City, the games only goal (own goal) coming via Robert Hugh.

The Gunners hardly impressed on the night against a suspringly uninspired Foxes side, the game itself, however, did feature a moment of controversy.

With the match deep into injury time, club captain Christian Fuchs sees an opportunity to launch the ball forward from a throw in.

Like the cheeky scamp he is, Alexis Sanchez decides to keep the defender from his attacking endeavours by standing directly in front of him.

Frustrated by the Chileans attempts nullify him, Fuchs proceeds to thrown the ball at Sanchez face, with a little play acting from the victim added for extra spice.

Here’s a clip.

The win leaves Arsene Wenger’s side 4 points off the Champions League places with 6 games left to play. Leicester on the other hand sit in 16th, 6 points off the relegation places – not quite enough to completely take their foot of the gas in the coming weeks.
