Premier League Week 26: Some Great Matches to Come

Time really flies when you have so many great matches to enjoy. The Premier League will be entering its 26th week this weekend, with some more incredible matches to follow. Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton are all playing important matches, while other meetings will be sure to be tense for the fans.

In this article, we’re going to take a closer look at some of the matches that will be happening this weekend. Which teams will come out on top? Who will bank the full 3 points at the end of the weekend? Let’s find out, shall we?

Saturday Matches
We have several great matches scheduled for this Saturday. At the top of our list, there’s the match between Chelsea and Swansea City. Chelsea have been showing some great performances these past few weeks. Their victory against Arsenal (3-1) was truly stunning, showing just how well the team play when under pressure.

Chelsea are also topping the Premier League at the moment with 59 points. A victory would mean the gap between this team and Tottenham – who is currently in 2nd place – will only get wider. There are already 9 points between the two teams.

Swansea City, on the other hand, haven’t been showing their best performances lately. The team is struggling at the bottom of the league, avoiding the relegation zone by just 1 point. That said, Swansea should have the motivation needed to defeat a giant like Chelsea, especially since a 3-point result will help them jump up a few places.

Still on Saturday, we have the Everton vs. Sunderland match. This is a match that has the potential of being a great one. Sunderland is in desperate need for a win; they are currently at the very bottom of the Premier League. Everton, on the other hand, is a strong team currently in 7th.

Sunday Matches
We have only one big match on Sunday: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Stoke City. As mentioned earlier, Tottenham is on a roll, currently just 9 points behind Chelsea at the top of the league. The changes made to the team recently are clearly working, since Tottenham has been winning match after match.
The match against Stoke is particularly interesting, because Stoke is known to be a giant killer. The team has a history of coming out on top of bigger teams, especially when you least expect them to. Stoke is also a team that can really use a win right now, which makes them even more motivated.

Monday Matches
To conclude the weekend, we have the Leicester City vs. Liverpool meeting on Monday. Despite their huge success last season, Leicester is struggling to keep up with the bigger teams this Premier League season. Leicester’s recent defeat against Swansea City (0-2) is not helping things either. Will the team be able to bounce back and bring home the much-needed 3 points?

Liverpool also haven’t been in their best form. Compared to Leicester, however, Liverpool’s performance is slightly better. After winning their match against Tottenham Hotspurs with a 2-goal lead, Liverpool will be eager to maintain a winning streak in this match. That extra motivation and energy coming from a recent win will be among many of Liverpool’s weapons against Leicester.

There was a match between Manchester City and Manchester United scheduled for this weekend as well, but the match was postponed and will not be played. This would have been the highlight of the weekend, but the previous matches we have covered in this post are no less interesting to follow. Bookmakers’ platforms such as BoyleSports 2017 are already ablaze with predictions and odds. Be sure to check them out before the weekend begins.
