AC Milan Eyeing Loan Move for Everton Winger Gerard Deulofeu

Italian giants AC Milan are thought to be eager in signing Everton’s young winger Gerard Deulofeu on loan come the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old Deulofeu is not enjoying much game time for the Toffees this season under manager Ronald Koeman, having appeared in only 12 matches this season, with all but one of them coming as a substitute.

With this scenario, AC Milan are under the impression that Deulofeu may be available for transfer once the market re-opens in January.

Sure enough, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are planning a loan move for the Spanish winger, with an option to make the move permanent come the end of the season should things work out.

It is uncertain whether Everton are willing to let go of Deulofeu permanently so AC Milan are keen on sweetening the deal by acquiring the services of a third-party to fund the Spaniard’s move to the San Siro.

Gazzetta dello Sport has explained that Milan are in talks with Chinese company Sino Europe Sports to make more funds available for the purchase of Deulofeu should it be deemed necessary to buy the player permanent at the end of the current campaign.

While nothing is set in stone at the moment, the Serie A stalwarts are confident a deal can be reached in the coming days. Whether Everton are willing to let go of Deulofeu, however, remains to be seen.

Deulofeu moved to Everton in the summer of 2015 after a successful loan spell two seasons prior. His contract with the Toffees is set to expire in 2018.
