London giants Chelsea are believed to be planning a bid for Bayern Munich’s midfield general Arturo Vidal in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 29-year-old Chilean international has been in solid form for Bayern this season, tallying a total 20 games for the current Bundesliga champions so far.
Vidal’s stellar form in Germany did not escape the attention of Blues manager Antonio Conte, who is thought to be keen in bringing Vidal’s energy and strength in midfield to Stamford Bridge come January.
According to Spanish sports weekly Don Balon, Conte will be utilising his club’s full financial machinery in the transfer market come next month – with a 50 million Euro bid lined up to ensure Vidal’s arrival in the blue side of London.
While neither clubs have commented on the issue, Bayern is thought to be keen on offloading Vidal to make way for their home-grown wonderkids Joshua Kimmich and Renato Sanches. Whether the deal could push true or end up as just another hollow speculation, however, remains to be seen.
Vidal made his £32-million move to Bayern from Serie A stalwarts Juventus back in 2015 and has since then made a total 67 appearances for the German outfit, scoring 10 goals.
Vidal has so far clinched a Bundesliga, German Cup, and DFL-Supercup winner’s medal in his two years with Bayern.
