Serie A minnows Atalanta have decided to cash in on their promising young talent Franck Kessie by slapping a 30-million Euro asking price on the midfielder, putting a host of suitors on alert.
Kessie has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, as the Premier League giants are keen to snatch the wonderkid away from Italian stalwarts Juventus who are also thought to be keen on signing Kessie.
However, according to Tutto Mercato, it has been mooted that a host of other Premier League bigwigs are keen to make a move on the 20-year-old. Sure enough, Tottenham Hotspur are thought to have already offered 23 million Euros for Kessie, with rivals Arsenal willing to match the bid.
Meanwhile, two other rivals in the form of Manchester United and Manchester City are also believed to be waiting in the wings – both clubs are prepared to table a 25 million Euro bid, a value Chelsea are definitely able to match.
Despite all this, Atalanta are keeping their cards close to their chest, unmoved by the bids for their Ivorian starlet. Sure enough, they are willing to wait until a club launches a bid that meets their valuation for the player.
All the focus on Kessie has been brought about by his stellar performance this season. At a tender age of 20, he is already plying his trade in Italy’s top-flight, with the Ivorian having made 17 appearances this season, scoring seven goals and two assists in all competitions – talent that a plethora of clubs are keen in bringing to their respective grounds.
Which club will eventually be able to clinch the player’s signature, however, remains to be seen.
