Zlatan nets leagues 25,000th goal as Devils maul Swans

As bad as United’s fortunes have been of late, the average Red Devils fan present at the Liberty stadium yesterday afternoon would have done well to look at the misery in the home contingent.

Swansea are fast becoming a Championship side, their status expedited by a 3-1 defeat to Jose Mourinho’s side.

The visitors, welcoming back Much chase Carrick and Phil Jones, kicked things off with a belter via Paul Pogba on 15 minutes, the Frenchman getting his foot over a high ball to unleash a rocket from 22 yards.

By the time Ibrahimovic launched a low effort past the hapless opposition keeper minutes after to make it two, the Swans were a beaten side.

United fans will be particularly happy that the Swede not only broke his scoring duct, but hammered in the Premier League’s 25,000 goal.

The former PSG player celebrating the milestone with a high flying Kung Fu kick right in front of Phil Jones’ face (doesn’t he know Phil’s injury record).

Zlatan added United’s third and his second on the 33 minute, a welcome tonic for Mourinho’s side to the past three weeks of hell. A Mike van der Hoorn consolation in the second half proving a futile attempt to get back in the match by Swansea.

It wasn’t all rosy for Jose Mourinho, an unnecessary booking for their Swedish talisman means he’ll miss United’s must win game against Arsenal.

Whilst the Swans struggled to impose themselves on the away defence, United’s back line still raised some eyebrows.

Ashley Young started the game at right back with Darmien on the left. Hardly a first team. Could Mourinho be hinting heavily at required inbound transfers for the oncoming window?
