Romelu Lukaku misses horror open goal against Holland

Lukaku v Holland

As frightening as the big Belgium can seen when pounding home goals for Everton, we’ve always somehow been unconvinced by the belief that Romelu Lukaku is a world class striker.

Very much supporting our case is this absolutely howling miss as witnessed during Belgium’s 1-1 draw with neighbours Holland last night.

With the Roberto Martinez helmed Red Devil’s trailing 1-0 to a first-half Davy Klaassen penalty, on came his former Everton colleague with 30 mins remaining to hopefully help his side out with an equaliser.

Unfortunately the former Anderlecht prodigy proceeded to repay his manager by missing from all of three yards when getting on the end of fellow substitute Thorgan Hazard’s cross.

Here’s footage…

Luckily his blushes were saved (but not really) via a 82nd minute Yannick Carrasco effort.

Few, that could have been embarrassing….
