Christian Eriksen reportedly demands 368.75% wage increase from Spurs

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]ccording to a story run by the Telegraph today, Tottenham Hotspurs’ midfield maestro Christian Eriksen has hit the club with a demand to increase his his wage by 368.75%.

The Denmark international only has two years left on his current deal, with some of Europe’s elite clubs potentially hovering over the midfielder whilst negotiations continue, and, with the club hoping to extend the deal, its believed Eriksen is in a prime position to more than triple his comparatively poultry current weekly wage of £32,000 a week – with the player hoping for a vastly improved £150,000 a week.

Whilst the amount would almost double what the club’s highest earner, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, is paid, Eriksen has become a mainstay in the side, with the former Ajax star even picking up Tottenham’s player of the Season award back in 2014.

As much as many Spurs fans are hoping to nail down their club favourite, it may be interesting to note that owner Levy’s strict wage structure meant he passed on the now Chelsea player Michy Batshuayi, who signed a deal for around £110,000.

Whatever happens, both Juventus and Inter Milan will listen to the outcome intently.
