Whilst the deal looked to be dead in the water with former club AZ Alkmaar refusing to budge in the letting go of their prized asset, Dutch talisman Vincent Janssen has finally signed on the dotted line with Tottenham.
Agreeing a four year deal with the London club, with the dutch side pocketing a cool £17million for their troubles, Janssen is set to give Harry Kane a run for his money after an impressive season in which he banged in 27 goals in 34 games.
In this golden age of pointlessly astronomical transfer fees, we reckon Spurs may have nabbed themselves quite the bargain.
