Joe Allen agrees move to Stoke City

Joe Allen is expected to be unveiled as a Stoke City player in the coming hours after terms were agreed between the two parties late last night.

Former club Swansea were hovering over the 26-year-old Welsh international for some time with an offer primed, however it’s believed the club have baulked over the £13million asking price for their former club favourite.

After largely being consigned to the Liverpool bench for much of last season despite the complimentary words of manager Jurgen Klopp, Allen is reported to have agreed to the move and will undergo a medical on Monday and join up with his new club at their training camp in Florida.

Whilst pockets of Liverpool fans will be unhappy with the sale of a solid and technically sound squad player, with just a year left on his contract few can be disappointed with the overall fee collected from Mark Hughes’ side.

Seems like a win-win for both parties if you ask us.
