Henrikh Mkhitaryan nearing Man Utd move after BVB confirm transfer agreement

Borussia Dortmund have today confirmed that they have permitted the sale of midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United. The Armenian has been on the Red Devils’ radar over the past month after he revealed his desire to join the Old Trafford outfit.

New United boss Jose Mourinho has made his ambitions clear this summer with the club going through with their transfer business well ahead of the new campaign.

Mkhitaryan was rumoured to be closing on his preferred switch to United in recent weeks, and a statement from BVB now states that the player will ply his trade at Old Trafford next season.

It read : “The paths of Borussia Dortmund and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan separate from this summer. BVB has complied, after intensive discussions, with the wish of the Armenian national team member to join Manchester United”.

The German giants have come to this decision following the 27-year-old’s reluctance to pen an extension to his contract that was due to expire in the summer of 2017.

The talented attacker played a key role in the Dortmund setup last term netting 23 goals and 32 assists in all competitions.
