Much of the appeal of the fabled panenka comes down to two things – score and your a genius, screw it up and it’s a crime very difficult to live down.
Here’s an example of it truly going tits up during the Lithuanian Football Federation Cup clash between Silute and Silas.
With the scores all level at 0-0 after extra time, the two sides headed into a penalty shootout. Its this time of excruciatingly tight margins that Silas player Gytis Siugzda’s decided on bringing out his ace in the sleeve – the infamous Panenka.
Only thing was, he ballsed it up beyond recognition – not only that his side went on to lose the penalty shootout 4-3.
Horrific – however full marks must go to hilarious goalkeeper and his faux dive.
