Harry Redknapp gets the name of his new team wrong, before ruling out the possibility of visiting them

Harry Redknapp is fast becoming a parody of himself.

After giving a hilarious ‘Johnny Foreigner’ style’d post match interview following a two match stint with Jordan, the former West Ham and Tottenham manager has been employed in an advisory role for struggling Australian A League side Central Coast Mariners.

Only, during a TalkSport interview, old Redders seemed to forget the clubs names.

He rambled;
It’s the South Coast Mariners. I met the owner, he’s a great guy, an English guy. Peter Storrie’s involved and they’ve got an English coach as well. They asked me if I would do a bit as an advisor.

Christ….

According to the clubs website, Redknapp has been hired on a purely part-time basis to assist the coaches and staff, in the process promoting the club commercially by “connecting them with his ties abroad”.

Owner Mike Charlesworth also commented that Redknapp would be visiting the Mariners’ base in Gosford, New South Wales “on at least two occasions during the season”

However it seems the owner is guilty of some rather wishful thinking.

Redknapp also added;
No, no, I won’t be going. It’s a long way. Thirty-odd hours on a plane. I came home the other week and it took me a week to recover.
It’s a long way but it’s a fantastic country when you get there.

And why should ya, whyyyy should ya.

Could it be anymore Redknapp?
