Borussia Dortmund saw off Mainz 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, a result that means the Black and Yellow keep tabs on leaders Bayern Munich as we enter the business part of the Bundesliga season.
Whilst supporters will be overjoyed their side has returned to form following an ugly last term, the match, and perhaps the season, was marred after tragedy struck the Signal-Iduna-Park.
As the game played out, news emerged that two Dortmund fans had suffered heart attacks in the ground, one made it (confirmed as being in stable condition before the match end), one much earlier during the game sadly didn’t.
The news naturally brought an eerie silence among support. That is until late in the match when thousands took part in a nerve wrangling rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Stirring stuff…….
