They say the best referee’s are seen and not heard, something made neigh on impossible when an officials glaring error is amplified by two rather outraged Aussie commentators.
Yesterdays A-League match up between Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers was rather noticeable for such a referee performance, more specifically this incident in which Adelaide right-back Michael Marrone is clearly mowed down by Wanders defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley.
Or as a member of the commentary team hilariously points out, more like “catapulted into the stratosphere”.
Possibly believing the victim to be over egging it a little, the official waves play on leaving an entire stadium absolutely flabbergasted. The reaction of the two gentleman in the commentary box is an absolute joy.
