2015, The year of Ighalo’s ‘Iggy Chop’ – Here’s compilation of defenders being put on their arses

Along with Vardy and Mahrez, Odion Ighalo has fast become a true Roy of the Rovers success story after netting 14 Premier League goals for Watford with 19 games of the season played.

It’s not just his a keen eye for goal thats has got Europes best clubs purring – you may have noticed the striker making absolute fools of a list of Prem defenders, such as John Stones, James Collins, Fabricio Coloccini and Ryan Bennett, with his signature move – The ‘Iggy Chop’.

It’s all pretty simple. Ighalo feints to go one way, then turns defenders the other to set himself up for a shot or even cross. Even though an entire stadium can see it coming a mile away, consistently the league’s best are left flat on their arses.

Just ask Mamadou Sakho….

Speaking post that Liverpool game, Ighalo commented on it;

‘I just try to play my game and do it when it’s possible. If there is space to execute it, sometimes I get lucky and sometimes it doesn’t work, but it’s become a part of my game.’

Sure sometimes it might not pay off, however just look at the many times during 2015 the Nigerian has humiliated the opposition with his signature move.
