As bad as it is currently for Chelsea, we did not see this one coming.
After helping his side lift the Premier League trophy seven months prior, winning at an absolute canter, Jose Mourinho has been fired as Chelsea boss for the second time in his trophy laden career.
An official club statement read;
“The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Chelsea,”
The Blues uncomfortably reside just above the Premier League’s relegation zone, we can only presume that Mr Abramovich had genuine concerns the club would be relegated.
Otherwise, we really cannot see the logic.
Sure there’s been stories of friction between the players and their outspoken manager, and to be fair he has acted like an absolute tit throughout, fact is the coming summer would have seen a summer clear out of the weak links, fast forward, you’d be more than sensible to presume the club would have been challenging on all fronts with a new refreshed squad.
Chelsea fans must be screwing.
You can of course bet not everyone is….
