FC United of Manchester fight for fans as FA throw them the rulebook

Having formed from the vacuous void that is the Glazers’ crushing capitalist running of The Red Devils, FC United of Manchester have continued to fight the good fight when it comes to their football club.

With the FA demanding that their massive FA Cup first round tie against Chesterfield be moved to suit the television schedule, the club rejected the proposal with the argument that a changed fixture time of 7:45 on a Monday evening would be “inconvenient to fans and detrimental to the match-day atmosphere”.

Well it seems that the powers that be were too strong for the the footballing minnows as, despite an honourable fight, the match has been forced to moved to accommodate BT sports scheduling, not only that the usual Broadhurst Park match day ticket price of £9 must be changed to £10 to fall in line with cup regulations.

A load of old fooey we think you’ll agree. In a glorious two fingers up the establishment, FC of Manchester will be issuing a little gift to loyal fans.

Taken from an official statement on the clubs site;

FC United’s usual price is £9. If the minimum adult price of £10 is applied, FC United will be issuing a £1 voucher to all adult ticket holders that they can spend on food and drink or merchandise at the ground.

This offer will be extended to away supporters. FC United will pick up this cost and this will not affect the division of gate receipts with Chesterfield FC.

It’s not life changing, however the sentiment is quite wonderful.

Especially in comparison to Premier League supporters getting absolutely shat on for the tenacity to actually want to watch games.
