Some rather unwelcome news now, as footage is awash all over social media of football fans scuffling in the streets ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League fixture with Sevilla at the Etihad.
The Daily Mail are reporting that five fans have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder whilst one man has suffered a serious head injury. Various news outlets have also reported that three Polish men were involved in the melee, indicating that Slazk Wroclaw fans were involved. Sections of support from the two clubs were embroiled in violence back in 2013 after a Europa League match, the 2014 Super Cup against Real Madrid saw Wroclaw fans travel to attack Sevilla fans as revenge.
Some pretty wretched news we think you’ll all agree.
