England unveil squad for latest Euro qualifiers with a couple of noticeable additions

With England already securing their EURO 2016 place at a canter, Roy Hodgson has brought a couple of fresh faces into the squad ahead of the oncoming qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.

Dele Alli, after some exciting displays very much getting the White Hart Lane faithful purring, has got the nod along with Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

Noticeable exclusions include Daniel Sturridge, possibly with those easily upset those legs in mind following an explosive return, and Eric Dier, who will no doubt feel hard done by in reflection of his own fine form.

Other absentees include the crocked likely lads of Luke Shaw, Fraser Forster, Jack Wilshere, Ben Foster and Leighton Baines.

Here’s the list in full;
Goalkeepers: Jack Butland, Joe Hart, Tom Heaton.

Defenders: Ryan Bertrand, Gary Cahill, Nathaniel Clyne, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, John Stones.

Midfielders: Dele Alli, Ross Barkley, Michael Carrick, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jonjo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling.

Forwards: Danny Ings, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, Jamie Vardy, Theo Walcott.

It’s quite the eclectic mix, is it wrong that we get excited by this squad?*
