Admin errors lead to David De Gea’s Real Madrid move collapsing

Contrary to what we all believed was a done deal, David De Gea’s £29million dream move to Real Madrid is seemingly dead in the water after both clubs failed in finalising paper work before the Spanish transfer deadline.

With the two European giants bickering over who has the more incompetent secretary, United have seemingly taken the moral high ground with the most compelling argument. That being, why wait till the last minute to crowbar a deal?

And by last minute, we mean last minute. Real say that Manchester United sent through the vital documentation at approximately 23:59. Allegations rebuffed by the Old Trafford hierarchy with the help of some useful looking time stamps.

Poor old David De Gea has by all accounts been left ‘devastated’ at the prospect of 5 more months in sunny Manchester, the next transfer window now looking the likely time for the deal to finally come into fruition.

With United seemingly the happier of the two parties, this long winded saga may have just backfired tremendously for the Red Devils transfer team. With the United bank balance no longer being deposited with that gigantic fee, and with the Spanish keeper in the last year of his contract, it seems De Gea’s value will plummet heavily come January.

During the intervening months, it’s unlikely that Louis Van Gaal, famed for his poor treatment of unwanted players, will manage to get a decent song from his want-away stopper.

We can only recommend the former Atletico keeper uses the situation to negotiate an obscenely large contract, god willing that’ll cheer him up at the least.
