With Manchester United seemingly the unwitting pawns in his quest for a bumper new Barca contract, it was all very surprising to see Brazilian superstar Neymar being snapped up by Limerick in yesterday’s back pages.
Only not all is as it seems.
Who your actually looking at is Neymar’s evil Twin, Barry….Barry Neymar.
Ok, well not quite.
This is in fact former Avenue United and Ennis Town forward 16-year-old Barry Cotter, a striker who bares a frightening resemblance to the Brazilian.
It’s not just his looks, young Barry’s confidence is also quite reminiscent of his doppelgänger.
“I was delighted to come into the club this season,” Cotter told the club’s official website. “I’m happy that Dave [Dineen, the manager] signed me and I’m just hoping for a brighter future. It’s a massive opportunity – I couldn’t ask for anymore at this time.
“Hopes for the season – I’m looking for a top-three finish, and on goals I’m looking to score at least one or two in each game for the rest of the season.”
