With the Liverpool legend set to finally make an appearance in an LA Galaxy shirt, it seems Steven Gerrard has ingratiated himself among Galaxy supporters (or Galaxians) in a grand manner….by plying them with booze.
Prior to his July 4th halftime unveiling, during his sides 4-0 thumping of Toronto, the Liverpudlian purchased beers for all three Galaxy supporters groups (Angel City Brigade, Galaxians and LA Riot Squad) to enjoy during their pregame tailgates
Whilst actually using the terms ‘refreshments’, Gerrard penned this rather lovely message to accompany shed load of beers for the enjoyment of his new fans;
LA Riot Squad,
Even though I’ve yet to wear an LA Galaxy jersey, I am excited for the opportunity to play in front of LARS and earn your respect.
Supporters are the lifeblood of any club and I know that with your support we’ll challenge for MLS Cup again.
As a token of my appreciation for what you do for the club, I wanted to provide you with the refreshments for the 4th of July.
